Short Family History

This family begins in the Rhieneland/Palatinate area of germany around 1600. One branch crossed the Atlantic to American colonies in the 1740s to 1770s, and settled in Maryland, Pennsyvania, Ohio, and Indiana. Another in tehe 1790s went east into Galicia (on the eastern edge of Austo-Hungarian Empire). This area is now part of Poland, and the Ukraine. Today's members of this branch live in Poland, the Ukraine, and German-speaking countries, and some have emigrated to the United States and Canada.
